About The Position

HUB International is a leading global insurance broker providing property and casualty, life and health, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services. We are seeking a Principal Group Insurance Advisor to join our dedicated and professional team, contributing to our continued growth. This role involves supporting vice presidents in client relations, ensuring service quality, participating in financial analysis and negotiation strategies with insurers during renewals, and contributing to the development of tender documents and insurer selection processes. The position also includes participating in actuarial evaluations for post-retirement and other non-pension benefit plans, acting as an expert for peers and clients, and preparing for client and insurer meetings. Additionally, the role involves establishing project budgets and timelines, staying informed about other firm specialties, contributing to training and continuous development, participating in internal initiatives for innovation, and keeping abreast of industry news and best practices. The advisor will also respond to client inquiries, develop and manage a client portfolio, actively participate in business development, cultivate client relationships, and ensure the quality management of their team, including planning, billing, training, work/budget monitoring, and performance evaluation.

Requirements

  • University degree in actuarial science.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in group insurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint).
  • Mastery of spoken and written French and English.
  • Client, results, and action-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build good interpersonal relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently in the process of obtaining or already possess FSA and FCIA designations.
  • Proficiency in accounting evaluations related to retirement benefit plans.

Responsibilities

  • Support vice presidents in their client relations.
