About the position
The Concrete Carpenter Foreman is responsible for leading and managing crew members in daily activities and production, ensuring adherence to project timelines, plans, specifications, and industry standards. This role includes providing training on safety and operational procedures while supervising other crafts as needed. The foreman plays a crucial role in maintaining quality workmanship and safety on the construction site.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and organize people, equipment, tools and materials for efficient construction.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of construction equipment.
- Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, and daily management reports.
- Assist in developing a weekly schedule and sequence of activities for the crew.
- Ensure timely completion of work assignments within estimated costs while maintaining quality.
- Conduct operations according to safety rules and regulations.
- Develop and maintain a positive crew attitude through toolbox meetings and communication of safety concerns and work plans.
- Monitor compliance with company policies among crew members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
- Thorough knowledge and skill to perform all essential functions of craft workers under supervision.
- Ability to perform task planning for safe and efficient work execution.
- Knowledge of scheduling, material control, and job cost management systems.
- Effective communication skills to convey instructions and safety practices to crew members.
