About the position

This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DOD) organization located at the Pentagon. The Computer Support Administrator, Senior is responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting and repairing personal computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, MFD's and AV equipment. Assist employees via remote access, phone, or in person. May also mentor or train other Computer Support Administrators. Candidates need excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as extensive experience with desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivity. They must be customer service-oriented, self-motivated and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of computing resources. Selected candidates may be required to provision and maintain mobile devices (NIPR, SIPR). This is a temporary full time position until December 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (desktops, laptops, VDI, servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software or system functional specifications.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage, VTC equipment and network connectivity.
  • Provides system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users.
  • Applies security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment.
  • Supports new infrastructure projects.
  • Maintains all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Currently hold an active adjudicated Top Secret/SCI Clearance and be able to maintain (no waiver)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate MCSA: Windows 10/Office 365
  • DOD 8570 IAT 2 compliance (CompTIA Security +, Equal or greater)
  • Self motivated
  • ITIL v3 - Foundation
  • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs
  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
  • Experience working with basic networking to include foundations of Cisco Routers and Switches
