About the position

The Computer Scientist 3 position at Air Traffic Engineering Co LLC involves providing software analysis, design, development, testing, and system integration for the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) program. The role requires a high level of technical expertise in real-time software development and interfacing with computer hardware systems, particularly within the National Airspace Systems (NAS).

Responsibilities

• Provide software analysis and implement code fixes.
• Perform peer/code reviews.
• Write test plans and procedures.
• Work individually and within a team.
• Take direction and initiative; provide direction and training.
• Communicate technical issues with non-technical people.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a technical field with 30 semester hours in math, statistics, and computer science and 15 years of related work experience.
• Master's degree with 30 semester hours in math, statistics, and computer science and 12 years of related work experience.
• PhD in a related field with 30 semester hours in math, statistics, and computer science and 3 years of related work experience.
• US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with STARS/NAS and Red Hat Linux.
• Knowledge of database concepts and project management tools like Redmine.
• Experience in HTML/XHTML, JSON, and SQL.
