About the position
The position involves performing a variety of procedures applying ionizing radiation, specifically conducting CT scans as directed. The individual will communicate effectively with physicians and other personnel involved in patient care. Responsibilities
- Identify patients and procedures, and communicate with nursing or physician regarding patient needs.
- Position patients accurately for CT procedures to ensure best visibility of anatomy.
- Know scanning protocols in depth and perform procedures correctly using protocol book for reference.
- Complete studies in a timely manner and ensure they are taken to the radiologist for interpretation as soon as possible after completion.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock of the patient room, ensuring adequate supplies and linens are available at all times.
- Explain CT procedures to patients and/or family members, and obtain necessary medical history and questionnaires.
- Train co-workers and students, and assist other technologists when not busy in assigned CT room.
- Acquire requisition and check for appropriate clinical information, charging procedures and supplies as needed.
- Operate the PAC's system appropriately and verify studies before sending to archive.
- Report equipment problems to supervisor and document confirmation numbers for all procedures.
- Maintain competency needed for working in the CT department and perform point of care testing.
Requirements
- Certification Program - Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT Registered and registered in CT
- CPR certification
- SCQRSA License

- 3D Imaging experience preferred

- Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
