About the position

The Compliance Specialist, Medicare at Providence Health Plan is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within the Medicare health plan business. This role involves evaluating laws and regulations, advising internal stakeholders, and serving as a subject matter expert on regulatory requirements. The position impacts the health plan's legal and financial obligations while supporting the organization's mission of patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

  • Handle various aspects of regulatory compliance activities for the Medicare health plan business.
  • Evaluate new and existing state and federal laws and regulations to advise internal customers.
  • Represent the Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, and Government Affairs Department in internal implementation processes.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert regarding regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Analyze legal and contractual obligations, and complex regulatory reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant health care, health insurance, regulatory compliance, or legal experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in process implementation and improvement, policy and procedure development, technical or legal writing, or written customer communications.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing legal and contractual obligations and complex regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Part D Compliance Medicare Experience.
