About the position

The Companion/Caregiver position involves providing compassionate care and companionship to an elderly individual, specifically an 80-year-old woman. The caregiver will stay at the client's home for 24 to 48 hours at a time, assisting with daily activities and ensuring the client's comfort and safety. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, kind, and capable of handling the physical demands of caregiving.

Responsibilities

• Helping the client get dressed and changed.
• Assisting the client to the bathroom.
• Assisting the client with bathing.
• Preparing meals including lunch and snacks.
• Driving the client to social engagements.
• Performing light housework such as washing and folding laundry and cleaning up after meals.
• Taking out the garbage.
• Managing day-to-day operations of the house, including locking up and turning on/off the alarm.
• Delivering medication to the client three times a day.
• Picking up groceries and household supplies.

Requirements

• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Ability to assist a 125 lb individual up and down
• Licensed driver with a clean background check
• Excellent hygiene and good credit

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in caregiving or related fields such as nursing, nannying, teaching, or medical assistance
