About the position

The Peer Resource Navigator at Arms Around You is responsible for providing essential support to individuals in re-entry and those facing various challenges in the community. This role focuses on assisting participants in accessing necessary resources and services, ensuring they receive the help they need to navigate their circumstances effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Completes intake appointments to determine eligibility for various assistance/services.
  • Manages a full schedule each day and assists walk-ins for intake.
  • Practices excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all resources available in the resource spreadsheet.
  • Updates electronic client information ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Organizes and compiles client application documents electronically and confirms all required documentation is present.
  • Corrects client applications and data in case of an error.
  • Ensures client information is kept confidential.
  • Develops and maintains a strong knowledge of available services in the community to provide referrals and resources to clients.
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with fellow staff, community members, and other agencies.
  • Performs general office duties such as typing, filing, copying, faxing, answering the telephone, and light cleaning duties.
  • Maintains a welcoming demeanor and treats all participants and community members with respect and empathy.
  • Responds to all inquiries in a friendly manner within 24 hours.
  • Ensures regular, daily attendance and punctuality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in re-entry or related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and community members.
  • Proficient in data entry and management of electronic client information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of community resources and services available for participants.
  • Experience working with trauma-affected individuals.
