About the position

The Community Justice Services Alternative Sentencing Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations, programs, personnel, and fiscal management of the Alternative Sentencing Facility (ASF) in Boulder County. This role ensures compliance with policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for residents. The manager will lead a team, collaborate with justice system partners, and implement standards for community-based adult correctional facilities. This full-time position requires a commitment to the mission of providing hope, support, and safety to the community while reducing recidivism through effective programs and services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the facility and supervise staff, residents, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Develop and implement policies and guidelines for community-based adult correctional facilities.
  • Formulate operational plans for facility management and assist other managers.
  • Represent CJS in the criminal justice space and collaborate with system partners.
  • Review disciplinary actions and ensure the least punitive measures are exercised.
  • Engage with vendors for facility services and ensure quality and compliance.
  • Plan for and respond to emergency situations within the facility.
  • Regularly meet with management to discuss operational issues and improvements.
  • Serve as the Product Owner for the Unify ASF software system.
  • Respond to emergency situations and ensure orderly execution of evacuation or shelter in place orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in an adult correctional setting or related field, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Criminal Justice system and alternative sentencing programs.
  • Experience in office management, business management, and contract management.
  • Advanced skills in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and motivational interviewing.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.

  • Bilingual in Spanish for additional compensation.
  • Strong self-awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion considerations.
  • System-level knowledge of adult correctional settings and alternative sentencing programs.
  • First-hand knowledge of office management and risk management principles.
