About the position

The Community Engagement Specialist at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine plays a vital role in supporting community programming in southern New Jersey. This position involves forming and sustaining partnerships with community organizations, coordinating community health improvement projects, and providing administrative support to physician faculty. The specialist will be a visible representative of the School in the community, requiring strong communication skills and a passion for serving underserved populations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains data for all community engagement activities.
• Ensures all logistics related to community engagement activities are organized in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
• Acts as a liaison for community organizations in planning and implementing community health improvement projects.
• Maintains and nurtures community partnerships including keeping up to date contact database for partnerships, vendors, community resources and key constituents.
• Participates in various training, meetings, committees, and related activities as indicated.
• Articulates the mission, vision, values of the program and its services as well as resources available throughout community health partnerships.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or other relevant area of study.
• Minimum of 1 or more years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
• Valid Driver's License from a USA state.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Spanish candidates are highly preferred.
