About the position

The Warren Branch Community Coordinator, in collaboration with the Warren Branch Manager, plays an active and proactive role in enhancing the capacity of Warren Branch agencies. This position focuses on outreach, education, training, community collaboration, technical support, and customer service, with the primary goal of increasing Meals per Person in Need (MPIN) in the Branch Region counties. Additionally, the Branch Community Coordinator will contribute to and help define health and wellness initiatives as outlined in the Healthy Pantry Initiative plan. The Community Coordinator is responsible for educating both agencies and individuals receiving food assistance in the Warren Branch Region on healthy eating habits and ensuring shelves are stocked with nutritious food options. This position is essential in supporting local agencies, feeding programs, and community outreach initiatives. The role involves building and nurturing relationships with community partners, offering guidance on compliance and food safety, and helping to strengthen the capacity of programs to better serve their communities. The position also supports key initiatives such as SNAP application assistance, children's and senior feeding programs, and mobile distributions. Additionally, the coordinator ensures compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards through regular site visits and provides technical assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled monitoring visits to agencies in the assigned area.
  • Work with staff and member agencies to increase member capacity and share information concerning Arkansas Foodbank programs.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with member agencies via various communication methods.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of member activities.
  • Responsible for the execution, management, and evaluation of initiatives and goals in the HPI plan.
  • Train and educate agencies about nutritional qualities of items on the Foodbank inventory.
  • Distribute communications to designated groups/audience.
  • Provide support with identifying and maintaining community partnerships.
  • Attain and maintain ServSafe certification.
  • Assist with statistical data collection and program evaluation for health and nutrition programming.
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, inspection, and evaluation of feeding programs.
  • Support community members with SNAP application and recertification assistance.
  • Travel to agencies in assigned areas.
  • Analyze and interpret demographic and geographic data.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills.
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain professionalism when dealing with the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Service, Human Services, Community Development, Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Systems Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel within the state up to 75% of the work schedule.
  • Availability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of insurance required.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
