About the position

The Community Coordinator for School Programming at Restart Academy is responsible for enhancing community relations and communication between the school, students, families, staff, and community partners. This role involves developing partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and educational institutions to support various school programs, including fieldwork and community service initiatives. The coordinator will also oversee outreach programs and facilitate events that engage the community in the school's activities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ongoing contact with community-based organizations (CBOs) that support the school's educational programs.
  • Assist students and staff in building relationships with external partners.
  • Meet with community leaders and administration to plan community events.
  • Coordinate and supervise outreach programs between the school and the neighboring community.
  • Supervise, plan, implement, coordinate, and monitor community development programs.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor partnerships and community development programs associated with the PTA and CBOs.
  • Prepare evaluation reports and review program plans with various CBOs.
  • Work with departments and the Parent Association to support community workshops.
  • Prepare correspondence and documents for community outreach purposes.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to the Parent Coordinator and Principal.
  • Encourage participation from community groups in recreational activities and provide operational support.
  • Advise School Administration on technology needs and resources.
  • Prepare program-wide academic evaluation reports and individual/group reports on student performance.
  • Assist with testing and evaluation of newly installed hardware and software packages.
  • Facilitate training and support on technology platforms.
  • Liaise with school district administrators on student programming and other matters.
  • Update all SETTS & ELL students on the STARS Classroom platform.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities; or a high school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work; or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • At least one year of experience in community work as described above.

  • Ability to interact with people of all social and economic levels.
  • Prior experience in a school setting and interaction with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of school program objectives.
  • Strong literacy skills and troubleshooting abilities.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $60,733 - $94,279 per year.
  • Flexibility in work hours to meet school community needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
