Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians. We are looking for a curious, innovative, and reliable Communications Intern who can actively support the communications requirements for our Seaspan workforce – and beyond. In this role, you will have your finger on the heartbeat of the organization and play a substantial role in making a difference for our teams across the shipyards and marine businesses. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are looking to grow your skills as part of an agile and passionate communications team. You can’t wait to bring your fresh ideas and innovative approach to an organization that has been a staple in Canada’s west coast marine community for generations. Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
