Commissioning Lead

Mantel Capture, IncTrois-Rivières, QC
Onsite

About The Position

Mantel is developing the first molten-salt-based carbon capture technology designed to operate at the high temperatures found inside boilers, kilns, and furnaces — enabling highly efficient carbon capture that has not been possible until now. Carbon capture can be applied across industries to reduce emissions and achieve net-negative emissions. By solving for efficiency Mantel can cut costs substantially, unlocking carbon capture's role in reaching net zero emissions by 2050. The Commissioning Specialist works directly with the commissioning team to execute the startup of Mantel's first-of-a-kind demonstration system. You'll be on the ground running pre-commissioning checks, executing procedures, coordinating trades, and making sure the system comes up safely and to design intent. This is a field-heavy role. You'll spend significant time on-site at partner and host facilities, with shifts typically running 10 days on, 10 days off.

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in industrial plant commissioning, construction, or operations
  • Relevant field experience and demonstrated commissioning competency
  • Experience with plant startups including pre-comm checks, punch lists, and managing last-minute scrambles
  • Ability to follow procedures, document everything, and not cut corners
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments: heat, noise, PPE, shift schedules, and tight coordination with trades
  • Ability to take direction well and communicate clearly
  • Ability to keep the Commissioning Director informed and surface issues early
  • Reliable and follows through without needing to be chased
