This position is a professional administrative archivist with the Study of the Legacy of Slavery Program at the Maryland State Archives. The role involves engaging with and coordinating the Maryland Reparations Commission, which is mandated to research the educational, financial, historical, and sociological harm done as a result of race-based slavery and inequitable policies perpetuated upon people of African descent in Maryland. The Commission will author two reports on reparative justice with recommendations for benefits to individuals impacted by historical inequality. This position will provide administrative and organizational support to the Commission under the supervision of the Study of the Legacy of Slavery Program staff, in coordination with the Commission Chair and Vice Chair. Special topic areas include Social Justice Studies and Policy, African American History, Maryland History, Civil Rights, Reparations, and Slavery.
