About the position

As a Commercial Truck Driver at Recology, you will play a vital role in the efficient and effective operation of our transportation services. This position is under limited supervision, which means you will be responsible for ensuring that all safety and operational procedures are followed meticulously. You will be accountable for maintaining good customer relations while operating your assigned vehicle across various service areas. Your commitment to safety and excellence will directly impact our community's perception of our company and the quality of service we provide. In this role, you will perform daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on your assigned vehicle to ensure it is in optimal working condition. You will be expected to operate the vehicle in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to all safety measures and legal load limits. Loading materials according to established procedures is a key responsibility, and you will need to report any violations to your supervisor promptly. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that hazardous materials are not accepted during your operations. Your ability to report accidents and safety violations in a timely manner is crucial, as is your dedication to fostering positive customer relations. Responsibilities

  • Perform daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle.
  • Ensure all safety measures appropriate for operation of assigned vehicle are consistently and efficiently applied.
  • Operate vehicle in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Load all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and report any violations to supervisor.
  • Ensure hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
  • Assure materials being transported comply within the legal load limits.
  • Report all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain support of good customer relations and positively influence the community's perception of the Company throughout all applicable service areas.

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to vehicle operation.
  • Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Knowledge of local routes and service areas in Santa Rosa, CA.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
