About The Position

At Dave Jones, Inc., we’re growing our Commercial New Construction teams. As an HVAC Start Up Technician, you’ll play a key role in shaping projects and building a legacy of quality work. If you enjoy Quality work and seeing challenges daily, this will be a great role for you. This role requires you to commute to both Milwaukee and Madison based jobs, you must be comfortable driving anywhere.

Requirements

Proficient in diagnosing, starting up, and testing HVAC Equipment on Commercial construction projects (split systems, mini-splits, package systems, and rooftop units.
Valid Driver’s License
High School Diploma or Equivalent
6+ Years of HVAC Construction Experience or have successfully completed the HVAC Apprenticeship
EPA Certification

Responsibilities

Diagnosing, starting up, and testing HVAC Equipment on Commercial construction projects (split systems, mini-splits, package systems, and rooftop units).
Skilled in service repairs, register installations and providing white glove service in finished and occupied units / homes.
Comprehensive understanding of refrigerant troubleshooting and code-compliant HVAC systems.
Competent in the installation of ductwork, gas piping, condensate piping, and venting, as well as blueprint reading and layout from pre-designed or custom plans.
Responsible for pre-planning and communicating material needs to ensure on-time delivery and availability.
Responsible for training field crews in both structural and technical aspects of the industry.
Strong knowledge of all job phases, ensuring HVAC systems are installed effectively in coordination with other trades.
Actively supports and enforces DJI Safety Culture by maintaining safe jobsite conditions and holding crew accountable to safety policies.
Communicating outstanding start ups, reporting status of start ups.
Properly filling out start up forms, proper documentation of start ups.
