Assumes the primary responsibility for managing existing and growing commercial banking relationships. This role involves interviewing customers and prospective customers to identify loan and deposit opportunities, developing and enhancing banking relationships with commercial customers by selling loan, deposit, and fee products/services, and collecting and analyzing financial data for proper loan structure for presentation to the loan committee. The Commercial Banker is responsible for managing a commercial calling program for existing customers, driving commercial customer growth, and negotiating customer loan documentation. Additionally, this role carries out business development activities to identify bank prospects and develops key centers of influence. Collaboration with commercial banking and credit teams is essential for preparing new loan requests and committee presentations, ensuring compliance with loan policies and procedures, and working with Product partners to establish products and services for commercial customers. The position also involves responding to customer inquiries, participating in loan portfolio review meetings, and collaborating with Portfolio Managers to manage the existing loan portfolio. Monitoring and documenting the performance of the loan portfolio through call memos, site visits, financial reviews, and managing loan payment delinquency are key aspects of the role. Maintaining good working relationships with bank employees and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills are also important.
