About the position
The part-time Athletic Coach for Softball at the School District of Palm Beach County is responsible for leading and managing the softball team, ensuring adherence to school policies and fostering a positive environment for student-athletes. The coach will conduct practices, develop game strategies, and promote sportsmanship and teamwork among players.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the softball team during practices and games.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance player skills.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
- Promote sportsmanship and teamwork among student-athletes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in coaching softball or a related sport.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the rules and strategies of softball.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Nice-to-haves
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working with youth in a sports setting.
- Understanding of athletic training and injury prevention.
