About the position
The CNC Setup Operator at Hutchinson Industries is responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of technical drawings, quality control measures, and the ability to edit machine programs. The operator will also instruct others, troubleshoot machining issues, and maintain a clean work environment while striving for improved production efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Use quality control measuring tools to ensure product quality.
- Edit machine programs using basic 'G' and 'M' codes.
- Instruct operators on loading, machining, and unloading processes.
- Address machining issues, including tool wear adjustments.
- Enter production information into a tracking system.
- Complete necessary paperwork for operations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Strive to improve workstation performance and production efficiency.
- Communicate professionally with all plant personnel.
Requirements
- Advanced CNC machining skills including setup and program editing.
- Knowledge of quality control measuring tools.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing assembly drawings.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in a non-air conditioned environment for 8 hours.
