About the position
The CNC Mill Machinist position involves setting up and operating CNC machines to perform precision milling operations. The role requires interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, selecting appropriate tools, and ensuring quality control throughout the machining process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CNC machining, particularly with HAAS equipment, and will be responsible for maintaining machine operations and performing routine maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform Mill precision operations
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments for each job
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
- Make machine adjustments to settings as needed to maintain product quality
- Identify and correct any issues that may occur during the machining process
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Mill Machinist
- Proficiency in CAD software for programming CNC machines
- Strong knowledge of milling machines and their operations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings with a thorough understanding of GD&T
- Strong experience to operate all types of machining centers: vertical, horizontal, and conventional
- Familiarity with power tools and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Experience with tooling selection and setup for various machining operations
- Good understanding of material properties to calculate appropriate speeds and feeds
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of machined parts
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
