About the position

JACO Machine Works is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their team. This mid-level position involves operating and setting up various CNC machining centers, ensuring high-quality production of parts for the medical, aerospace, and semiconductor industries. The role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups and operation of horizontal, vertical and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Retrieve machine programs from database, create/read tool lists for job.
• Accurately set tools and work offsets, changing tooling as needed to restore operation.
• Ensure produced parts meet drawing specifications with standard inspection instruments.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic edits of G-code to solve problems.
• Read CMM reports and adjust machine offsets as needed.
• Follow work instructions and communicate with Supervisor.
• Train machine operators on any job that you set up.
• Deburr parts when needed.
• Perform basic machine maintenance.
• Keep work area clean and organized.

Requirements

• Must be organized and accurate with documentation.
• Familiarity with Fanuc and Mitsubishi or similar controls.
• Good knowledge of machine processes of manufacturing and problem-solving skills to ensure strict quality/dimensional and cosmetic standards.
• Ability to work with tight tolerances like +/-.0002”
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well with others.
• Good knowledge of G and M codes.
• Knowledgeable with GD&T.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
• 5-10 years' experience as a CNC machine operator or setup.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Matsuura, Makino, Kitamura or Ganesh milling equipment.
• CAD/CAM experience a plus.
• Experience with Jobboss shop software a plus.
• Background in AS9100 work environment.
