About the position
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Wichita, Kansas. The ideal candidate will have experience with HAAS machines, knowledge of blueprints, and the ability to maintain cleanliness in the work area. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with precision tools and machinery, contributing to our growth as a leading aerospace manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Study blueprints, sketches, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
- Enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
- Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications using measuring and inspection tools.
- Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Confer with production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of blueprints and CNC machines
- Experience working with Mazak machines
- 3+ years of recent CNC machining experience
- Experience with 4 and 5 axis machines (3 axis acceptable)
- Ability to perform setups, runs, and true machining tasks
- Proficiency with Mazatrol SmoothX Controls
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with CNC Lathe and Millturn
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
