About the position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Masonicare at Mystic plays a crucial role in assisting residents within the Memory Care Unit with their daily living activities and personal care. The position aims to enhance the residents' independence, freedom of choice, and overall quality of life. The CNA is responsible for providing compassionate care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort and safety while adhering to agency policies and maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance with essential activities of daily living and personal care to residents based on age, needs, and abilities.
- Assists with instrumental activities of daily living, including light housekeeping tasks and coordinating transportation needs.
- Helps residents with self-administration of medications through cueing only.
- Observes and reports changes in residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to the supervisor or director.
- Conducts room checks, monitors for safety hazards, and records incidents or accidents.
- Assists in dining-related tasks, including escorting residents and serving meals.
- Participates in and supports the resident-centered activity program, completing required documentation during shifts.
- Acts as a resident advocate and maintains confidentiality in all interactions.
- Communicates tactfully in sensitive situations and follows up on reported concerns.
- Acts as an ambassador to guests and maintains required certifications.
Requirements
- CNA Certification is a must.
- No prior experience required.
