About the position

The Club Manager at Planet Fitness is responsible for overseeing club operations, ensuring a positive member experience, and maintaining the financial stability of the club. This role is crucial in fostering a high-energy atmosphere within the Judgement Free Zone, where inclusivity and comfort are prioritized. The Club Manager will lead a team, implement best practices in hiring and training, and drive member engagement and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Grow, develop and build a winning team by utilizing best practices in hiring, training, coaching and performance management.
  • Utilize training tools available to hold team accountable for essential learning.
  • Teach your team to provide +1 service and lead by example in the gym every day.
  • Ensure every member has a friendly greeting upon entering/exiting the gym.
  • Develop a plan to drive EFT through maximizing KPI's in your club.
  • Be responsible for a timely, professional and solution-oriented response to member service submissions.
  • Create raving fans by ensuring proper open and close procedures are followed.
  • Write an effective schedule that meets hours determined by payroll grid.
  • Be accountable for your team's knowledge of critical information such as marketing promotions and corporate initiatives.
  • Ensure all employees participate in company provided CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Develop your assistant manager into a future leader by providing on-the-job training.
  • Perform daily bank deposits to ensure timely deposit of club revenue.
  • Exhibit flexibility with your schedule to cover team needs.
  • Review Fitness EMS platform daily to ensure club maintenance requests are up to date.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Regional Manager regarding maintenance tickets.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service and ability to exceed member expectations.
  • Strong listening skills to understand staff and member perspectives.
  • Problem-solving skills to recognize and define issues and provide solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the fitness industry.
  • Previous management experience in a customer-focused environment.
