About the position

The Closing Team Leader at Target is responsible for ensuring a positive guest experience during the closing hours of the store. This role involves leading a team to maintain store operations, prioritize guest service, and drive sales performance while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Closing Team Leader will engage in various responsibilities, including coaching team members, managing workload efficiency, and supporting store leadership in achieving business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development and modeling inclusive behaviors.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience.
  • Model, train, and coach expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Understand your role in sales growth and how each area contributes to total store profitability.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning.
  • Problem solve and prioritize across multiple business areas to execute store strategies.
  • Assist leaders through communication and collaboration to influence current sales performance.
  • Support your leader with store operations by seeing the store through the lens of the guest.
  • Use business planning tools to share priorities and business updates with store leadership.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Support team onboarding and learning and help close skill gaps through development and coaching.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning.
  • Address store needs such as emergencies and regulatory visits.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Support guest services such as order pick up and Drive-up orders.

Requirements

  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
