About the position

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Ingalls Memorial is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services to a diverse patient population, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This role emphasizes patient safety, adherence to professional standards, and compliance with corporate policies, while also participating in clinical services and performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Completing accountabilities and goals set forth with accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.
  • Acting in compliance with corporate and departmental standards, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Preparing and dispensing medications and pharmaceutical supplies as prescribed by physicians and other qualified prescribers.
  • Overseeing IV Room related activities.
  • Participating in the provision of clinical services in the department.
  • Maintaining proper documentation and records of accountability for drug use and storage.
  • Participating in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in the orientation and training of pharmacy personnel, students, and allied health professionals.
  • Demonstrating innovation and creative thinking.
  • Developing self and/or others through continuing education.
  • Expanding current area of responsibility.
  • Participating in revenue enhancement opportunities.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships by resolving conflict effectively and promoting teamwork.
  • Providing drug information to patients, physicians, and allied health professionals.
  • Assisting in enhancing productivity and efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Current valid registration as a pharmacist in the State of Illinois.
  • Professional degree in pharmacy from an ACPE accredited school (B.S. in Pharmacy, or Pharm.D.).
  • Current CPR certification required by AHA.
  • Ability to remain alert and effectively intervene regarding medication orders.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years or more of hospital experience as a registered pharmacist.
  • Completion of PGY-1 rotation.
