At the entry level, the position provides employee assistance services to Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) employees and family members to facilitate the resolution of work and personal problems affecting job performance, and to provide traumatic incident stress management services to employees experiencing a traumatic incident in the workplace. The position provides confidential support and resources to MDHHS employees in a hospital setting who are dealing with personal or work-related challenges. The work with these employees involves promoting the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of staff members by offering crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and referrals to appropriate resources. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy work environment, supporting employees' mental health, promoting overall employee well-being, and enhancing employee productivity and engagement. In a senior capacity, provide comprehensive employee assistance services to high-risk Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) employees and family members to facilitate the resolution of work and personal problems affecting job performance, and to provide traumatic incident and/or critical incident stress management services to employees experiencing a traumatic incident in the workplace. This position provides confidential support and resources primarily to all MDHHS employees with a specific focus on those working in a hospital setting who are dealing with personal or work-related challenges. The role is focused on promoting the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of staff members by offering crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and referrals to appropriate resources. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy work environment, supporting employees' mental health, promoting overall employee well-being, and enhancing employee productivity and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide employee assistance services to MDHHS employees and family members.

Requirements

  • Possession of a master's degree in social work.
  • For Clinical Social Worker 10: One year of professional experience providing social casework and treatment services in a clinical setting.
  • For Clinical Social Worker P11: Two years of professional experience providing social casework and treatment services in a clinical setting, including one year equivalent to a Clinical Social Worker 10.
  • For Clinical Social Worker 12: Three years of professional experience providing social casework and treatment services in a clinical setting, including one year equivalent to a Clinical Social Worker P11.

Nice-to-haves

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working, interning, or volunteering in an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • State of Michigan Master Social Worker Limited License.
  • Certificate in Critical Incident Stress Management: Group Crisis Intervention and Advanced.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of clinical social work experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with the challenges and unique needs of hospital employees, particularly those working in psychiatric hospitals.
