About The Position

This position will be involved in the collection and analysis of high-density diffuse optical tomography (HD-DOT) data at the bedside from patients who are on ECMO maintenance for a project funded by the American Heart Association. Our Brain Light Laboratory, part of the Biophotonics Research Center in the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, is a diverse and interdisciplinary team whose research focuses on developing novel tools that extend mapping of brain function beyond current limitations. We harness the power of diffuse optics to create portable and wearable systems for minimally constrained imaging of brain function. This technology facilitates mapping brain function in participants who are especially challenging to study with fMRI such as toddlers and children with autism and patients undergoing surgery or intensive care.
