About the position

The Clinical Research Associate II is responsible for research activities, data management, and carrying out day-to-day research project activities. This includes the recruitment and enrollment of study participants and the creation and update of study documentation. The role involves monitoring the progress of research protocols for multi-center studies and collecting research data on patients entered into research protocols in the Department of Ophthalmology. This position works on clinical studies, which require a high level of knowledge, coordination, and data abstraction.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research activities and manage data.
  • Carry out day-to-day research project activities.
  • Recruit and enroll study participants.
  • Create and update study documentation.
  • Monitor progress of research protocols for multi-center studies.
  • Collect research data on patients entered into research protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Healthcare, Science, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience related to healthcare, laboratory, and/or clinical research.
  • Knowledge of clinical research practices and principles.
  • Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to independently assimilate and evaluate clinical data.
  • Familiarity with medical ophthalmology terminology.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a group setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Science, or related field.
  • Experience with completing Case Report Forms (CRF's) and creating source documents.
  • Experience in ophthalmology.
