About The Position

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University conduct clinical trials and clinical studies to discover new ways to prevent and treat diseases and other health problems. The Division of Pulmonary is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant who will provide routine support to the research team by helping implement steps and processes of a clinical research protocol.

Requirements

High school diploma or graduation equivalent
Six months of work experience
Reliable transportation is needed
Excellent communication skills
High level of work ethic and professionalism
High level of motivation and positive attitude

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience in a clinical or clinical research environment

Responsibilities

Lead participant recruitment for clinical research
Answer study related questions
Screen potential participants
Data collection and entry
Scheduling and maintaining study calendar
Serve as a liaison between the participants and the different research team members
Collect study data as required by the protocol, e.g., interviews, surveys, clinical procedures, etc.
Perform data entry and organize data in approved systems
Gain and use a basic understanding of the clinical study background and rationale for communication with potential and current participants
Assist with routine contact of study participants
Obtain informed consent from eligible patients
Escort patients through hospital during their research visit
Disburse petty cash payments to study participants
Attend recruitment and community outreach events; research home visits which may include deployment and pick up of environmental equipment, physical activity devices, sleep devices, and others
Maintain filing system for electronic and paper-based research records
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and IRB regulations and guidelines
