About the position

The Clinical Pharmacist - Outpatient will be required to float between all outpatient pharmacy locations (Winter Park, Orlando, Viera, and Daytona Beach), as needed. The Clinical Pharmacist is a licensed professional with knowledge and proficiency in pharmacy practice including pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and pharmacotherapeutics. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing real and potential drug-related medical problems and implementing corrective action to ensure that patients receive optimal drug therapy. The clinical pharmacist also supplies standards relating to all aspects of distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs. The primary function of a clinical pharmacist is to assure the safe and appropriate use of medications, and be an advocate of rational drug therapy through the following: evaluation of the appropriateness of drug therapy based on patient specific factors; individualization of drug therapy; evaluation, dispensing and providing medications, and drug information. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, rotating based on service needs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited College or School of Pharmacy.
  • Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience equivalent to the next lower grade level for GS-12.
  • Completion of an ACPE-accredited Pharm.D. program.
