About the position

The Clinical Pharmacist engages within the Medical Affairs - Medicare Formulary Administration team to support the creation and maintenance of the CVS Caremark standard and client-modified Medicare formularies. This role is responsible for supporting the immediate team, Clinical Advisors, and other teams to prepare CMS formulary files and formulary drug lists, provide direction to internal partners to implement downstream clinical activities, and to support other formulary and utilization management related processes, projects, and requests. This is a hybrid role, based in-office 3 days/week with the opportunity to work from home the remaining days. Candidate must reside in commutable distance to our Buffalo Grove, IL, office location.

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and maintenance of Medicare formularies.
  • Prepare CMS formulary files and formulary drug lists.
  • Provide direction to internal partners for downstream clinical activities.
  • Support formulary and utilization management related processes, projects, and requests.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in Health Care setting and/or completion of managed care residency.
  • Active pharmacist license that is in good standing.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pharmacy Practice or Managed Care residency.
  • Demonstrated experience with formulary management, Medicare Part D, PBM and Managed Care, drug file and adjudication.
  • Strong Clinical Skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment and applicable standards.
  • Ability to resolve problems by influencing or motivating others.
