About the position

Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our ambulatory pharmacy team in Charlotte, NC, focusing on cardiology. This hybrid position requires a PGY2 Ambulatory residency or equivalent experience. The role involves delivering optimal medication management across all dimensions of care. The successful candidate will need to come on-site as needed and may receive potential relocation assistance for qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Partnership with NHMG providers and clinical staff to provide remarkable patient care.
  • Medication therapy management and patient counseling.
  • Promotes high quality, evidence-based, cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
  • Precepting of residents (Cardiology PGY1/PGY2) and students.
  • Participation in pharmacy and NHMG committees and shared governance.
  • Contributes to process improvement projects.
  • Supports the educational and professional development of the department and system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrating proficiency with equipment and software.
  • Onboarding will require in-person relationship building with clinics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification, required.
  • Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in healthcare system pharmacy, required.
  • Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other applicable certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role, required.
  • Direct patient care experience of 1-2 years in primary care setting with emphasis on cardiology diabetes, anticoagulation, lipids, HTN, obesity, osteoporosis patient management.
  • Proficient bilingual skills in Spanish.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD, preferred.
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy, preferred.
