Clinical Instructor in Nursing or Lecturer in Nursing (Faculty Wage)

About the position

The University of Virginia School of Nursing seeks applications to fill non-tenure-track, part-time Clinical Instructor or Lecturer faculty wage positions. We seek educators with clinical experience in the specialty areas of (but not limited to) pediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatric-mental health, community/public health, general medical or surgical specialty. Positions will be filled on an ongoing basis according to curriculum needs; the position will remain open until filled. Please note: This is an at-will faculty part-time wage position that does not carry benefits.

Responsibilities

• Classroom lecturing
• Direct supervision of students in the clinical practice setting
• Evaluation of required written work

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in nursing is required
• A Master's or terminal degree in nursing or related field is preferred
• Two years of clinical nursing experience is preferred in one of the specialty clinical areas listed above
• Teaching experience is preferred
• Applicants must be eligible for RN licensure in Virginia if applicable
• Applicants who are eligible for Virginia nurse practitioner licensure; prescriptive authority and have national certification as a nurse practitioner are strongly encouraged to apply
