About the position

The Clinical Informatics Systems Analyst II plays a crucial role in the operation and administration of clinical information systems within a large, multi-regional healthcare system. This position involves collaborating with clinical and technical teams to enhance workflow methodologies and tools, providing application support for clinical applications, and managing incidents, changes, and problems according to ITIL processes. The analyst must possess detailed healthcare knowledge and systems expertise to effectively support assigned clinical applications while working independently.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Clinical Informatics colleagues to drive strategic goals and vision for the department and CHRISTUS Health.
  • Focus on standardized best practice workflow processes and clinical content to improve patient safety.
  • Identify infrastructure-related issues affecting clinical applications in collaboration with technical colleagues.
  • Develop, test, implement, support, and maintain assigned clinical applications and business processes.
  • Provide ongoing end-user support for clinical information systems during upgrades and new releases.
  • Communicate system changes, new functionality, and workflow process changes to clinical end users.
  • Foster relationships with ministry leadership and departments to ensure effective communication and meet business requirements.
  • Prioritize and implement updates and requested changes to clinical information systems.
  • Provide effective customer service and support during critical problems.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, and technical issues associated with clinical information systems.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and escalate complex problems as necessary.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer usability and efficiency.
  • Represent user needs in system updates and enhancements.
  • Provide clear status reporting on key project areas to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in application support and proactively improve skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of clinical/technical application experience in lieu of degree, strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years previous clinical information systems experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Epic certification/accreditation/self-proficiency preferred (may be required to certify in relevant application within first 6 months of hire).

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, clinical informatics, data management, and administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
