About The Position

Under limited supervision, performs advanced repair, maintenance, calibration, and installation of complex patient care and clinical engineering equipment. Supports project-related work and helps ensure all medical equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment in a hospital environment required.
At least two (2) years of experience supporting physiological monitoring equipment preferred.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clinical staff, patients, and visitors.
Working knowledge of biomedical systems and related technical trade areas.
Strong organizational, analytical, and active listening skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications.
Self-motivated, professional, and results-oriented with a high level of integrity.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with the capability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or certificate in Biomedical Equipment Technology or a related field preferred
Completion of a military biomedical technology program may be considered in lieu of formal education.
At least two (2) years of experience supporting physiological monitoring equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and calibration on a wide range of biomedical and patient care equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and departmental standards.
Respond to service requests and resolve equipment issues in a timely, safe, and effective manner.
Install, maintain, and support diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment, including electronic and mechanical systems.
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards by accurately documenting inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs while identifying and mitigating safety risks.
Coordinate with third-party vendors for repairs or services outside internal capabilities.
Maintain and manage tools, testing equipment, and service resources to ensure operational readiness.
Collaborate with clinical staff to support equipment functionality, proper usage, and minimized downtime.
Assist in the evaluation, testing, and recommendation of new or demonstration equipment purchases.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation, and safety files in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Provide basic education and training to staff on equipment operation and safety.
Respond to urgent service calls and support departmental operations as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information in accordance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
