About the position

The Clinical Director will oversee clinical services in a group home setting, ensuring that residents receive high-quality mental health, behavioral, and supportive care. This role combines clinical expertise, leadership, and program management to support the well-being and therapeutic needs of residents. The position requires strong leadership abilities to maintain high standards of care and effective collaboration with staff and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical and physical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for each resident.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused care, and behavior modification.
  • Stay updated on current research, best practices, and emerging trends in adolescent health.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff effectively.
  • Provide clinical leadership to a team of counselors, therapists, case managers, and support staff.
  • Manage staff and resident issues, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Communicate clearly with residents, staff, families, and external partners, including report writing and documentation.
  • Connect with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competence in all interactions.
  • Guide staff and residents during mental health emergencies and behavioral crises using de-escalation techniques.
  • Provide direct clinical services, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Identify potential risks to residents and staff and create preventive strategies.
  • Manage multiple projects, staff schedules, and documentation within deadlines.
  • Analyze data on resident outcomes, program efficacy, and staff performance to make evidence-based decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards through quality assurance practices.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related clinical field.
  • Active clinical license (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Psy.D.) as required by the state.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in mental health, behavioral health, or residential care of youth.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a clinical or residential setting.
  • Additional certifications in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or behavior management are preferred.
  • Solid understanding of adolescent development and challenges faced by young girls in transition.
  • Proficient in using electronic health care systems and relevant software applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Coursework or specialization in trauma, mental health, behavioral therapy, or family therapy.
  • CPR and First Aid certification for emergency response preparedness.
