About the position

The Clinical Dietitian at Villas At Brookview provides essential nutrition services to residents in a long-term care setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure patient care aligns with medical goals. The role involves applying the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), conducting nutrition assessments, developing and implementing nutrition interventions, and monitoring patient progress to enhance health outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nutrition assessments for residents based on their needs or conditions.
  • Complete Minimum Data Set (MDS) forms and document results in medical records.
  • Evaluate dietary intake and health conditions to identify nutritional risks.
  • Supervise culinary director's screening and data collection activities.
  • Train dietetic technicians and dietary managers on documentation procedures.
  • Identify nutrition-related consequences of health and disease conditions.
  • Evaluate psychosocial and functional factors affecting food access and preparation.
  • Determine appropriate data collection methods and assessment tools.
  • Document nutrition diagnostic statements in PES or PE format.
  • Formulate nutrition intervention plans based on evidence-based guidelines.
  • Provide nutrition counseling to residents and families based on individual needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions and adjust as necessary.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate dietetics students and interns, planning learning experiences and evaluating performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or a related area from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.
  • Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and a supervised practice program approved by CADE.
  • Registration eligibility and licensing within one year of employment.
  • Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility, or assisted living community (1-2 years preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to sudden demands.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in outpatient nutrition analysis.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
