About the position

The Clinical Data Coordinator at Indiana University Indianapolis plays a crucial role in supporting and facilitating clinical research studies within the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. This position involves assisting in the conduct of clinical trials, ensuring adherence to established protocols, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance throughout the research process. The coordinator will engage in participant recruitment, data collection, and documentation, while also providing support for various research activities and staying updated on regulatory affairs and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the conduct of clinical research studies or trials following established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify and recruit subjects for clinical research studies or trials; schedule appointments and perform screening, consenting, and data collection in adherence to study protocols.
  • Conduct routine experiments and coordinate research study procedures in accordance with SOPs; collect and record study data in a database.
  • Communicate with researchers and Principal Investigators (PIs) regarding any issues related to the research study or trial.
  • Collect clinical samples for research and ensure proper documentation of all study-related documents.
  • Maintain and manage inventory and research study supplies; facilitate disbursement of study participant payments.
  • Provide additional research study support, including literature reviews, grant preparation, and manuscript editing.
  • Stay updated on regulatory affairs and clinical research best practices through continuing education and team meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science or health-related field; OR an Associate's degree in allied health profession plus 1 year of patient-related or research experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in any field with 3 years of college-level science plus 2 years of patient-related or research experience; OR a high school diploma plus 5 years of patient-related or research experience including 2 years with clinical studies.
