About the position

The Clinical Counselor IV at LRADAC is responsible for providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups, and families dealing with substance use disorders and mental health issues. This role involves working in an outpatient setting, where the counselor will exercise discretion and judgment to aid patients in their recovery journey. The position emphasizes compassionate care and collaboration with a treatment team to ensure comprehensive support for patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups, and families with substance use disorders and mental illness.
• Utilize crisis intervention counseling as necessary.
• Develop, maintain, monitor, and update individualized plans of care for assigned patients.
• Manage and monitor patient progress, identifying needs and maintaining clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervision with the assigned Program Manager.
• Collaborate with other treatment team members to provide case consultation and case management services.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a human services field is required.
• Experience with substance use/misuse populations is highly preferred.
• Licensure in the helping professions is required (LMSW, LAC, LPC, LMFT, LISW).
• Certification as an Advanced/Alcohol and Drug Counselor through Addiction Professionals of South Carolina, or ability to complete the certification process within the required timeframe.
