About the position

The Clinical Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the business management activities and operations within the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Oklahoma. This role involves managing financial operations, human resources, IT services, and ensuring compliance with university policies. The manager will also assist in contract development and coordinate various departmental activities to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the department's general accounting, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, financial planning and reporting, and approval of expenditures.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of departmental contracts.
  • Help faculty prepare budgets for research grants and contracts.
  • Alert department head and faculty to income alternatives and opportunities.
  • Manage the activities and performance of the department's non-faculty staff.
  • Ensure compliance with university human resources policies and guidelines.
  • Assist with the department's IT operations and services, coordinating with central IT services.
  • Manage billing, collections, and tracking accounts payable/receivable functions for the department.
  • Assist in the development of outcomes-based quality assurance programs related to HIPAA.
  • Participate in departmental development activities such as marketing and fundraising events.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health Administration, Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
  • 36 months experience in business administration activities such as accounting, budgeting, finance, grants and contracts, billing, IT operations, and human resources.
  • 24 months experience in a lead, supervisory, or managerial role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 24 months experience in lieu of the Master's Degree for a total of 60 months experience.
