About the position
The LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans, Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine is seeking two (2) ABIM board certified/eligible (or equivalent) physicians in Internal Medicine for faculty positions, at the academic rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor- (non-tenure, clinical track, 75% effort).
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical hospitalist service at University Medical Center-New Orleans on the LSUHSC non-teaching inpatient service
- Participate in departmental and institutional activities, including education, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement educational programs for residents and medical students
- Contribute to the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient care
Requirements
- ABIM board certified/eligible (or equivalent) in Internal Medicine
- Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine
- Strong clinical skills and experience in hospital medicine
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
