About the position
The Clinical Assistant position at Hanger, Inc. involves supporting certified and licensed practitioners in providing patient care services under direct supervision. The role includes preparing patients for treatment, performing technical fabrication, maintaining documentation, and assisting with patient follow-up. The Clinical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety regulations and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist practitioners with patient care under direct supervision.
- Prepare a room and patient for treatment.
- Make and modify molds for orthotic and prosthetic devices.
- Perform technical fabrication and complete administrative tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care provided.
- Fit soft good items for patients and provide necessary alterations.
- Conduct patient follow-up for selected orthotic and prosthetic patients under supervision.
- Handle shipping, receiving, and monitor inventory.
- Contact vendors to order prosthetic and orthotic materials.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Eligibility to obtain a valid driver's license and meet driving record standards.
- Experience as an Allied Health Professional (e.g., PTA, OTA, ATC) is preferred.
- Knowledge of biomechanical principles and hand skills for laboratory tools.
Nice-to-haves
- Recognized license or certification in a related allied health profession (e.g., PTA, OTA, ATC).
- Experience as an Orthotic, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), or Soft Goods Fitter.
- Medical Assistant experience.
