About the position

The position involves providing ongoing support and problem resolution for clinical information systems at Central Maine Healthcare. The role requires effective coordination with users, IS personnel, and vendors to ensure system changes are thoroughly tested and implemented. The individual will serve as a liaison between user departments and IS, facilitating communication and understanding of information needs while also assisting in user training and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-routine tasks for ongoing support and problem resolution related to clinical information systems.
  • Coordinate problem resolution with users, IS personnel, and vendors.
  • Assess problem situations and exercise independent judgment in pursuing solutions.
  • Test system changes thoroughly before production and monitor results post-implementation.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with users and personnel.
  • Evaluate existing systems and develop new systems and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison among user departments and IS during system design and integration.
  • Communicate with user departments to determine information needs and present solutions.
  • Facilitate communication with user departments to exchange information and ideas.
  • Assist user departments in training, documentation, and policy development related to information systems.
  • Prepare training materials and conduct training classes as required.
  • Develop presentation materials to illustrate complex concepts clearly.
  • Maintain knowledge of corporate policies, regulatory agencies, and information systems security policies.
  • Assist with the analysis, selection, design, development, and implementation of information solutions.
  • Follow project work plans and test plans, completing tasks timely and accurately.
  • Assist in developing functional design specifications and ensure user interfaces maximize efficiency.
  • Notify management of project problems or delays and provide alternative approaches.
  • Work effectively as a member of the project team and assist junior analysts with system-related questions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Services, Business, Healthcare, or related field, or graduate of an accredited professional Nursing program eligible for RN licensure.
  • Three or more years of experience in Nursing, Information Services, Business Services, Healthcare, or related field, or seven or more years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record.
