About the position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides professional nursing skills in an outpatient clinic setting, emphasizing disease prevention and health maintenance. The LVN works closely with the clinical staff, front office staff and other related departments to support the patient and family needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for examinations and assists clinical staff with examination procedures.
  • Takes accurate vital signs, performs necessary lab work, and ensures that proper documentation is included in the patient's record prior to providers visit.
  • Notes appropriate history and reason for visit including: prenatal, immunization, smoking, medical history.
  • Updates allergy and medication list.

Requirements

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Graduate from an approved Licensed Vocational Nursing program with an associates or equivalent degree.
  • Current California LVN license or interim permit for LVN.
  • Ability to apply good clinical judgment, plan work, establish priorities and maintain flexibility.
  • Proficient written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to instruct and teach.
  • Ability to use a computer proficiently.
