About The Position

Dauphin County Children & Youth Services is currently accepting applications for a full-time position of Clerk Typist 2. The Clerk Typist 2 performs responsible and moderately complex clerical functions, providing clerical support services for the Dauphin County Children & Youth Services Agency personnel. He/she performs Receptionist duties in a back-up capacity and in doing so, acts as the first point of contact for the Agency providing customer service by greeting and directing clients and other members of the public in person and answering the telephone, transferring callers as may be appropriate. Work involves performing clerical functions in a dynamic environment and requires the utilization of organization and typing skills. This position requires adaptability and functions with some independence.

Requirements

  • Six months of typing experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum and a High School Diploma or equivalent which included at least one typing course.
  • Valid driver’s license and positive driving record at the time of hire.
  • Favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references.
  • Must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire (or an alternative form of identification if not eligible for a PA driver's license and driving is not an essential function).
