About the position

The Systems Administrator at the Force Tracking Mission Management Center is responsible for ensuring the secure, reliable, and continuous operation of mission-critical systems that support national defense. This role involves implementing cybersecurity practices, performing system maintenance, and adhering to Department of Defense (DoD) policies to protect vital information and resources. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to maintain system resilience against cyber threats, thereby enhancing national defense capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of Microsoft servers, workstations, and network infrastructure, including troubleshooting, break-fix activities, patching, and remediation of servers and workstations, along with system audit log reviews.
  • Performing updates, patch management, and troubleshooting of Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, ensuring system security and access to trusted updates.
  • Configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) applications to support operational requirements.
  • Installing and configuring software and hardware as required.
  • Managing network servers and technology tools.
  • Setting up accounts and workstations as required.
  • Troubleshooting issues and outages.
  • Upgrading systems with new releases and software installs.
  • Conducting server builds.
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Applying DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) as required.
  • Managing Microsoft Active Directory, GPO management, Certificate Administration, and Domain Controller Functional services.
  • Communicating detailed technical information on troubleshooting and implementation efforts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, including experience with RHEL systems.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with Top Secret SCI eligibility upon hire, with the ability to maintain this level of clearance.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II (CompTIA Security+ CE) or higher.
  • DoD Computing environment certification.
  • Experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work unsupervised.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to automate tasks using PowerShell.
  • Experience with virtual machine technologies (e.g., ESXi, VCenter, Vsphere).
  • Familiarity with Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) systems.
  • Database experience (MS SQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS.
