About the position

Join Bestgate Engineering as a Cleared DevOps Engineer, where you will contribute to the development of advanced tools and services in a Linux environment. This mid-level role focuses on optimizing a containerized landlord/tenant architecture using open-source technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, driving efficiency in software production within a DevOps culture.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and optimizing a containerized landlord/tenant system architecture.
  • Utilizing and deploying containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Administering and monitoring Kubernetes clusters to ensure optimal performance.
  • Employing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation tools like SaltStack, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining large Linux clusters to ensure reliability.
  • Leveraging system monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (5 additional years of experience can substitute for degree).
  • Proficiency with Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of computer, network, memory, and storage system components.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Demonstrated experience administering and monitoring Kubernetes clusters.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting large-scale Linux clusters.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using automation tools such as SaltStack, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Knowledge and experience using Git for version control and Atlassian Tool Suite for collaboration.
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience deploying Kubernetes applications using Helm.
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and their application.
