About the position
The Summit Center is seeking a Classroom Aide to provide educational assistance under the general supervision of a certified/highly qualified teacher. The Classroom Aide will support the transdisciplinary team and classroom teacher in performing duties both within and outside the classroom. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to give direction, work well with students and school personnel, maintain records, and demonstrate patience, dependability, good judgment, and tact. The Classroom Aide must consistently and successfully perform the essential functions of the position as outlined in the classroom standards manual.
Responsibilities
- Assist in instruction and fulfillment of IEP mandates
- Implement established behavior plan(s)
- Assist teacher to implement and monitor individual lesson plans, data collection and charting systems
- Assist in conducting classroom activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills in areas of need
- Assist with routine classroom functions
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Assist with home-school communication
- Assist with all required paperwork to be completed
